Dr. Vasugi Suresh is the Head of the Department. She has more than 25 years of teaching and research experience. She has served in various renowned Institutions teaching Physiology for courses like Medical, Dental, paramedical and PG courses including MDS and DNB (DNB candidates of General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radio Diagnosis and Anesthesiology at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore).

She has completed her post graduation in Medical Physiology in the year 1995 at Dr. ALM. PG Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Taramani, University of Madras. She has completed her Ph.D in Physiology (Faculty of Medicine) from Sri Ramachandra University in the year 2012.

Her doctoral studies involved in the identification of a novel polyherbal formulation that proved to be effective in the treatment of Diabetes mellitus and its related complications in an animal model which was further confirmed in molecular studies. She has secured a National patent (for 20 years from November 2013) for this discovery of a new formulation for Diabetes Mellitus, which is in the process of being marketed after a further clinical trial. She is been awarded with “Shri T. T Srinivasan - patent awardee Gold medal for SRU” for filing Indian patent in the year 2016 from Sri Ramachandra University.

She has been guiding PhD students under various renowned Medical Universities and has published articles in various indexed and non indexed journals and serves as a reviewer in many reputed indexed journals.

She has undergone training in Medical and Dental Education and attended workshops in Teaching and learning methods conducted by various Academic forums. Her research areas of interest include herbal medicine, Diabetes, Casdiovascular Physiology and Dentistry.

Dr. E. Dilipan, is an Assistant Professor-Research in Physiology, Saveetha Dental College & Hospital. He received DAAD fellowship to carry out doctoral work in Leibniz University, Germany and completed Ph.D Marine Biotechnology in Annamalai University. He worked as a Research Associate in the Discipline of Marine Biotechnology and Ecology, CSIR-CSMCRI Institute. He has a total of teaching and research experience of 15 years in Molecular Biology. He has significant experience to analysis, design, and implement the molecular techniques. He received National Post-Doctoral Fellowship from DST-SERB. He received Research of Excellence award from InSc, Bangalore. His field of interest is STRESS GENOMICS AND METABOLOMICS. He has published more than 40 papers in peer reviewed research articles, book chapters and books and three patent. He is a research guide for many of the undergraduate and Post-Graduate students.

Dr. S. Balachandran, is an Assistant Professor (Research) in Department of Physiology, at Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. He received his bachelor's from Bharathidasan University and master's degrees from Anna University in Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. from Annamalai University. He began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of sciences in 2015-2018, then moved to the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher. He is a recipient of prestige "CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative" fellowship by China for the promotion of science and principal investigator of "International Young Scientists Research Fund projects" from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His research interests include fundamental studies on confined catalysis, environmental chemistry, and nanotechnology interdisciplinary fields. He is currently conducting research on energy storage and harvesting, advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), photocatalysis, hydrogen production, micromotors, biosensor, porous and self-assembled material fabrication for the environmental remediation process. He has published more than 35 articles in reputed international journals.

Dr. Muthamizh Selvamani joined as an Assistant Professor-Research in Department of Physiology at Saveetha Dental college and Hospital. She pursued her Doctor of Philosophy (2013-2018) in Inorganic Chemistry at University of Madras, Chennai, India. She received Postgraduate (M.Sc.,) and Undergraduate (B.Sc.,) in General Chemistry from Auxilium College, Vellore affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. During her Ph.D., She was worked as Junior Research Fellow in UGC-UPE Phase-II Project and received NAMASTE INDO-EUROPE Visiting Fellowship to work at Department of Chemistry, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. The NAMASTE INDO-EUROPE Fellowship was hosted by Prof. Ramon Martinez-Manez. After successful completion of the Doctoral thesis, Dr. Muthamizh received the India’s one of the Prestigious Fellowships called National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF) awarded (2017-2019) by the Department of Science and Technology (SERB), India . This fellowship was hosted by Prof. R. Jayavel at Crystal Growth Center, Anna University, Chennai. After the completion of NPDF, Dr. Muthamizh worked as a FONDEYT Postdoctoral Fellowship (2019-2022) in Chile, Lattin America. This fellowship was carried out at University of Coception, Chile under the Guidance of Prof. David Contreras. Dr. Muthamizh research interest includes Synthesis of Nanomaterials and Polymer Nanocomposites, Electro-chemical Biosensors, Photocatalyst, Super-capacitor, Hydrogen Evolution Reaction. From her research out comes, she published more than 35 papers articles in both national and international Journal with Scopus H index of 15 and the total citation of 612.

Ms Menaka serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology, Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, Chennai. She did her PG in Medical Physiology in the year 2022 at DR ALM Post Graduate Institute of Basic Medical Sciences. She's interested in a wider range of Research aspects which includes specialization in Stress Physiology, Neurophysiology, Molecular biology & Microbiology. She specialized in Molecular techniques includes PCR, ELISA & Western Blotting.

Mr. H Mohammed Asif Hussein is the Assistant Professor in Physiology Department, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. He has completed his Post Graduation in Medical Physiology (Faculty of Medicine) in the year 2023 at Dr. ALM PG Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Taramani, University of Madras. His research area of interest include Cardiovascular Physiology, Neurophysiology, Diabetes, endocrine physiology, Stress and Environmental Physiology

Mr. Ilangovar I.G.K is the Assistant Professor in Physiology, Saveetha Dental College and Hospital. He has completed his Post Graduation in Physiology in the year 2023 at Dr. ALM PG Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Taramani, University of Madras. His research area of interest include Cardiovascular Physiology, Neurophysiology, Respiratory and Environmental Physiology, Diabetes and Herbal medicine.
